Got a 3 place Chesterfield couch for free after looking since 2017, I was looking for an "ok" couch under 500$can.. haha, i learned with the years that a good chesterfield 3 places is the price of a used car. So I just looked every day for 6 months, I couldn't believe "for free" as a price, i contacted the seller around 3min after the couch was put on Marketplace and called my dad for a truck and now after a couple hours of driving and moving while disabled, I have a 9k$ value JAYMAR Chesterfield in my living room, hte only tearing is on the 3 removable seat and the base have small holes made by cats all around. Your videos took me some time to find but man you just saved me so much money, I absolutely have the free week to put many many hours for the restoration and also have a small chair to practice hehe... old video, new comment but I will take the chance of asking the question My couch is "natural" color, i would love to go more red/bourgogne. Bad idea? Hard as novice? Worked in every kind of construction work, so I know I can learn, but I don't want to start something considered hard even for a pro. Thanks again for the quality of the explanation and not skipping any steps like so many others who want more clients and not teach to people, making it look like it's easy and fast.

Quiero comprarte el producto para repararlo, al igual que la consola, pues creo que ésta ultima ha sido por cuenta del calor en Miami. El auto es un Nissan Murano del año 11, edición limitada. La consola es negra y algo corrugada, mientras que los asientos son de un color claro (como caramelo). Podría ser? Agradecida de antemano! 👋

What color is this ?

I’ve watched many of your videos. You do true professional quality work for sure. Keep up the great work! I do have a couple questions regarding a specific color change from black to a camel tan (or lighter color) color. 1) when changing from a black to a much lighter color, do you do anything different besides your procedures to clean/degrease, scuff, dye the leather camel or to a lighter color from black, treat, and let it cure or do you have to apply/prime the leather to a white or light gray color in order for the leather to accept/dye more easily to the camel (lighter) color. 2) If the leather has cracks would you apply the filler and treat all the cracks and scuff prior to changing to the lighter color? Or would you perform the color change first then fill up and touch up the cracks? Any advice will help. Thank you

9:47 this is what's confusing me if we are to use a pigmented water based acrylic "paint" not dye but I think you are using the term dye because the pigment does sort of work like a dye, wouldn't you need the clear top coat stripped completely to ensure a lasting paint job? Meaning just soil/oil cleaning and leaving some of the factory protective finish [because this is a, by design, a non permeable (water beads) "finished" factory dyed (look at the color of the top and suede underside they are the same) top grain leather]. I want a job that will last, I'm considering these kits but not only for a "refurb, aka same color" but certainly a color change, I'd use either denatured AL or lacquer thinner after a soil cleaning with you product. Please advise. Thank you for your wonderful videos on this topic.

Amazing. I have an old leather couch that in between the upper part of the 3 part couch the leather the Smith part of the leather cracked off the couch and so there is no longer smoothness it appears to be hide underneath how do I repair that😢.???

Great video thanks. Speaking of Ekornes I have a Montana line teak frame leather sofa from them in a strange Avocado green that I want to change to an Almond. This is a quality European leather that has a suede underside and seems same color throughout top to inside. Will your product work to change the color and how would you compare to Rub'n Restore products. Thank you.

But it's not "fixed and corrected" it's covered up and disguised. Indeed it does look better but I guarantee you that wherever owns this won't be able to keep themselves from running their hands over it because they know it's there to the point of eventually having to get rid of it in favor of one that doesn't drive them insane. I was at least expecting to see a fast-forwarded tutorial involving sanding and patching first. Ah well, it does at least Look better.

What was used for the first step - cleaning- ? How much do we need to clean it? Are we supposed to remove the shiney top coat sealer first before dying? Ty
